Courtney Carlson is assistant professor at the University of Wyoming Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, where she teaches creative writing and literary analysis in the context of socio-ecological systems. Courtney earned the MFA in nonfiction writing and environmental studies. She is especially interested in work that blurs genre lines and confounds classic modes of nature writing. She has taught in the field in Wyoming and abroad on four continents, inviting students to extend classroom knowledge about the natural world to novel contexts. She has been artist in residence at Caldera and the H.J. Andrews Forest.
