Do your Christmas shopping early!  Make your reservation for a very special 2018 birding weekend for four to six with renowned ornithologist, Pepper Trail.  The weekend includes two nights’ lodging on PLAYA’s beautiful campus, meals catered by Annie’s Kitchen of Tumalo, Oregon (two evening receptions and dinners, two breakfasts and one lunch), a special PLAYA goodie bag, and evening entertainment both nights including a special presentation and orientation by Dr. Trail on Friday evening.

Pepper grew up in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. A family trip to Mexico when he was 12 instilled a lifelong love of travel, which has taken him to all seven continents and across all the oceans of the world. He has carried out field work on bird behavior and conservation in the Caribbean, Panama, American Samoa, and Vietnam, and his research on the spectacular Guianan cock-of-the-rock in Suriname was featured in National Geographic. When he isn’t guiding birding expeditions for Zegrahm Expeditions all over the world, Pepper can be found in Ashland, Oregon, where he works at the National Fish and Wildlife Forensics Laboratory. As the nation’s only forensic ornithologist, he is responsible for identifying all bird remains submitted in investigations of federal wildlife crimes, and testifies as an expert witness in courts around the United States. He much prefers living birds, however, and his enthusiasm and sense of humor just may convert a few non-birders when he is out in the field. Trail is also an accomplished poet and author, his most recent title Cascade-Siskiyou, Poems.

The cost for PLAYA’s exclusive weekend with Pepper Trail is $4,500 for four and $5,500 for six. For specific dates contact PLAYA.
