Robert Hackett (Bob) lives in Talent, Oregon, and is currently Associate Director of Travel Southern Oregon, the state’s regional tourism office. From 1998-2017 he worked as Marketing Manager at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland and taught American Literature and Creative Writing at Willamette University and Oregon State University. Bob received his B.A. in English and French from Dartmouth College and an M.A. and M.F.A from the University of Montana, where he was editor of CutBank. In addition to working on his translation of Antonio Machado’s Soledades, Galerias y Otros Poemas (1907) at PLAYA, he has translated French poet Jean-Claude Pinson’s J’habite Ici into English as well. His favorite thing to do is run whitewater across the West and grow food.
