Gail Foster was born in Providence, RI and has been a 2D artist since the age of three. She graduated summa cum laude from Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in 1978. Foster received her MFA in 1980 from the Parsons School of Design Atelier Painting Program. She worked as a professor at MICA before moving to Atlanta. She has been a self-sustaining full-time artist since 1989. Her art has been included in 12 museum exhibitions, 105 contemporary art
galleries, studio films and TV shows (“Being Mary Jane”), lifestyle publications, and private art collections (Will & Jada Pinkett Smith, Jane Fonda). Foster has received several fellowships, awards, and scholarships – the best of all, Creative Access PLAYA 2018.
