Karen Singer

Karen Kowalski Singer is a novelist, poet, haikuist, photographer and prairie naturalist who lives in Central Illinois.
She is the author of a poetry collection, Field Guide to Hidden Things, which won the Green Fuse Poetic Arts First Chapbook contest in 2012. Her poetry has appeared in numerous small journals and webjournals, and has occasionally been choreographed. She earned her MFA in creative writing/poetry at University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast program.
She is currently at work on a novel set in Chicago and Oregon, which explores a woman’s relationship to nature, fate and freedom and the culture of the 1970s. Her photos, haiku and prose can be found at 31haiku.blogspont.com and prairieyear.blogspot.com
