Artist MaryAnn Puls, creates paintings, drawings and assemblages in various mediums. Her work follows its own script with results that seem familiar, enigmatically attractive and although abstract, projects a certain reality. A need to understand draws the viewer to look closer. Everyday visual stimuli and an arm-chair interest in natural science provide constant fodder and themes. Her eye is often drawn to the results of nature that have been redirected by human activity and is intrigued with tangible and invisible records of life. MaryAnn Puls lives and works in Portland, Oregon. Exhibitions include 9 solo shows, numerous juried, group shows and a Regional Arts & Culture Council grant.
