Verity Sayles is an essayist from New England. After moving to the Pacific Northwest she became interested in place-based writing and how space can shape one’s identity. She appreciates fragmented forms, concrete details, and airplane food. She earned her MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Oregon State University in 2016. You can find her nonfiction work in The Normal School (forthcoming), Crab Creek Review, Under the Gum Tree, and others. She currently lives in Seattle where she teaches English and Creative Writing at an independent high school.
