Ameera Godwin (she/her) is co-founder and artistic director of Myrtle Tree Arts, a collaborative based in the Sierra Foothills of California. Her creative works include public events and multimedia performances and installations, including FIRE/LAND: Knowing the Territory; Earth Dayta: Music, Media, & Real World Data In Performance with Nature; The Size of What I See; and, RIPE AREA Arts + Nature Festival, supported by CA Arts Council funding in partnership with American River Conservancy. Her interdisciplinary artwork integrates digital photography and video collage, drawing, and writing with collaborative, site-specific ritual, dramatic performance, sound installation, and musical concerts. The themes of her work lie at the intersection of art, science, and community action around resilience, learning, and caring for the environment. Prior to this, she produced and directed several short environmental documentary videos that garnered numerous film festival awards. She continues her work in open access digital education at the research-based nonprofit ISKME.
