Corwin Levi is a mixed media, project-based artist whose practice centers around transforming ideas into experiences. He has shown and curated across the country and been awarded fellowships and artist residencies both here and internationally. Residencies include the Millay Colony, the Wurlitzer Foundation, Ucross, the Roswell Artist in Residence program, and others. He has also been commissioned for a number of murals, including the abstract mural on the highway overpass across from MASS MoCA. Recently, he co-created the book Mirror Mirrored: An Artists’ Edition of 25 Grimms’ Tales, including artists such as Kiki Smith, Carrie Mae Weems, DJ Spooky, and Amy Cutler reimagining old fairy tales. He has a BA from Rice University, an MFA from the Tyler School of Art, and a JD from the University of Virginia. He does arts writing for Art New England and the arts blog Gwarlingo, and has taught a variety of class ranging from college Foundation Drawing and Art and the Law to a special projects high-school class whose purpose was to create and execute an installation in a museum.
