I have been showing my work in painting, sculpture, printmaking, and handmade paper here and abroad in a variety of community and cultural centers, museums, and galleries for over thirty years, and have simultaneously worked at various jobs, as a printed circuit board designer, a writer, and an art educator. I started teaching college students in Mexico in 1987, taught children in Oakland from 1998-2016, wrote reviews and previews for Artweek from 1997 until its demise in 2009, created sets, masks, and puppets for several theater projects, and have been completely involved with public and private mural projects for the last 11 years.

My work in painted and tile murals always involves some form of community collaboration. As a result, my current work in sculpture, hand-made paper, and printmaking is also created with an eye towards installation and collaboration.
