Dorsey Kaufmann is an artist and designer who actively challenges interdisciplinary boundaries by investigating the parallels and intersections between art, design, and analytics. The core of her practice is keenly interested in social, political, and environmental relationships and she addresses these topics through semiotics and time-based media. Through video, data visualization, live installations, and animations – her transmedia projects connect the sensorial, lived experience to active global discourse. She is currently an MFA candidate in Illustration and Design at the School of Art at the University of Arizona and works in Dr. Ramirez-Andreotta’s Integrated Environmental Science and Health Risk Laboratory as an Information Designer.
