Heida Diefenderfer, Ph.D., is an ecosystems research scientist. Her studies emphasize multi-scale phenomena, frequently involving watershed or landscape connectivity with riparian and littoral interfaces. She is engaged in large-scale ecosystem restoration as praxis for investigations in ecohydrology, geomorphology, and community ecology. She strives to synthesize and evaluate multidisciplinary research to help ecosystem managers approach problems in sustainability with transparent, informed, and systematic reasoning. She recently published “Evidence-based evaluation of the cumulative effects of ecosystem restoration,” Ecosphere volume 7(3).
