As a long time biologist and hobby botanist, Jennifer has always had an appreciation for natural beauty. After moving to Central Oregon, she became the President of the Native Plant Society of Oregon: High Desert Chapter, ran the Central Oregon Wildflower show for five years, lead botany hikes, leads nature journaling courses, and taught programs in environmental education. In more recent years, she has turned her passion for the outdoors and native flora into art. She gains her inspiration from detailed biological and botanical art plates of the 17th and 18th centuries. Jennifer’s preferred mediums are pen and ink, gouache, and watercolor. She is currently collaborating with several other local Bend artists and has her own product line which includes stickers, pins, stationery, and prints that are available at local boutiques. Jennifer’s art has also been displayed at various downtown Bend businesses, outdoor festivals, as murals, and in prep, a children’s book about the Sunriver swans. She hopes that, through her art, others will appreciate and be inspired by the natural world around them.
