Jerri Bartholomew (she/her) is an emeritus Professor of microbiology at Oregon State University and director of the JL Fryer Aquatic Animal Health Laboratory. She is also a glass artist who incorporates ecological and scientific imagery into her art, exploring how art can both communicate and inform science. She has worked at the interface between art and science for over 25 years including co-teaching a class on the Art of the Microbiome and, forming an ArtSci collaborative faculty group at OSU, serving as a member of the PLAYA science council, and showing her own work. She also initiated and advises a fellowship program at OSU (in its 3th year) that funds over 25 students on a year-long art-science pursuit (PRAx Interdisciplinary Fellowships).
