Jon D. Nystrom is a writer, wind farmer, and naturalist who was born and raised in Wisconsin. He earned his BA in English from UW-Oshkosh, then his MFA in poetry from Naropa University’s Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. He moved to Portland after graduate school, then traveled in mind, body, and spirit while catching up to himself through a time vortex, finding the Pacific Northwest again. He has worked in various fields, including library science, the candle industry, commercial construction, and the wind turbine industry. He enjoys hiking, blogging, hammocks, morel hunting, renewable energy, crafting, cooking, and genre-bending. He has started volunteering and hiking with Friends of the Gorge and looks forward to finding more trails to feed the compost of his mind.
