Boston-based violinist Julia Connor enjoys a versatile career performing everything from baroque music on period instruments to new works by living composers. Recent highlights include a performance of Monteverdi madrigals at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall, the world premiere of Dana Kaufman’s Scratch the Surface, and a lecture-recital of Dutch Baroque music at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Julia also enjoys exploring and creating music which blurs the lines between classical, jazz, folk traditions, and free improvisation. She looks forward to spending her time at PLAYA practicing and composing music to be recorded for her first solo violin album.
