Kaitlyn Carr-Kiprotich is a Seattle-based multidisciplinary artist with a focus in collage and printmaking. As a white American married to a Kenyan-American, her practice stems from the shared experiences of blending two cultures and being in an interracial relationship. By using the personal as political, she hopes to contribute to and encourage viewers to discuss larger dialogs of color and identity. Navigating Race and Ethnicity is an ongoing series of paper collages depicting daily life of Carr-Kiprotich and her spouse. Part of this work belongs to a permanent collection at Oregon State University, where she received her BFA in 2016.
