Lisa Barthelson grew up in a family of artists and has been making art since childhood. She works in multiple mediums, looking at everything as a potential art making material, welcoming the challenge of transforming and re-composing household objects, personal cast offs or nature’s detritus in combination with traditional materials and methods. Her current practice includes work in printmaking, collage/mixed media, encaustic, found object assemblage, photography and site specific sculpture and installation. Barthelson uses the objects and materials around her, including the debris generated by her family of five, to spark and inspire her art making, it all excites her. Her work has been exhibited throughout New England and in NY. Barthelson is a Landscape Architect and works from her studio in Worcester MA.
