“My work lives in the cells, in the spirit and the gut, in the listening, the unknown, the space in between… in the muck of transformation. I enjoy harmonies that press uncomfortably up against each other, and voices that envelope. Other current sound interests include tree bark, rocks, subways, and train bells.”

Lisa creates and performs music for dancers, video, and installation. She describes her work as “environmental soundcapes,” developed from layers of vocal manipulation, field recordings, and live & recorded instrumentation. Her scores offer grounding for narrative, movement, and mood. Lisa has a degree in composition from Hampshire College. In addition to composition work, Lisa creates performance pieces steeped in her training as a clown. Don’t be scared.
