Marilyn Joyce

Marilyn Joyce is a contemporary mixed media artist. Her work records the essence of a place. Using a variety of materials in different arrangements, she tells a story of the land through her extensive walking practice. The artworks use color, layered paper, and wet media in combination with intuitive gestures, mark-making and staining to create meditative maps.
Her work is shown through Moore Art Project in Portland, Oregon, with solo and group shows in 2017. Additional community-based art events included the Sitka Art Invitational, Portland Open Studios, and the Portland Community Source Art program. Her work is in private and business collections throughout the United States.
