Mary Coss is a Multidisciplinary Artist creating installation and time-based art that investigates nature and contemporary culture. She re-contextualizes common artifacts to explore issues of identity, memory, and social justice. Travel is integral to her practice, with cultural exchanges in Stockholm and Guatemala and research trips to Russia, Istanbul, and Argentina. Awards include grants from Ford Foundation, NEA, Puffin, and Artist Trust and residencies at Willapa Bay, San Juan Sculpture Park, and Cornish Arts Incubator. Her extensive exhibition record includes galleries, museums, sculpture parks and community Public Art. Mary holds an MFA in Experimental Studios from Syracuse University. She is co-founder of METHOD Gallery and Curatorial Lead for Borealis Festival of Light in Seattle.
