I have been a professional writer for nearly a decade. I’ve filled a variety of roles along the way: editor of a newspaper; wire service correspondent covering immigration, politics and the criminal justice system in the Western United States; and, more recently, a freelance journalist and writer as I dedicate more of my time to my first novel.
I have a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Southern California Annenberg Graduate School of Journalism, where I was an Annenberg Fellow, and a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Affairs and French Literature from the University of Virginia, where I was an Echols Scholar.
