Tara Fitzgerald is a writer, journalist, literary translator and teacher. She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction and Literary Translation from Columbia University, where she was the nonfiction editor of Columbia: A journal of literature and art, as well as the recipient of a Hertog research fellowship. Tara also holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Oxford University in the UK. She has completed residencies at Art Farm and the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and her nonfiction writing has appeared in Guernica, Vela, and The Common, among others. In 2014, she was awarded a writing fellowship by the Norman Mailer Center. Tara was based in Mexico City for six years as a freelance reporter, writing for publications including Monocle, *Wallpaper, Esquire Latin America, The Independent, Food & Wine, and Departures magazine.
